Overview

The Director of Publisher Development is responsible for scaling Arkadium’s partnerships with publishers in the US and Canada. In your role, you will find and bring-on new publishers as well as upsell our existing partners on our new product line . Initially, you will be an individual contributor, but have the ability to grow and build a team as milestones are achieved. This is a new position at the company where you’ll be empowered to create a strategy and process to achieve your goals.

  • has great negotiation skills and understands the complexities of revenue share deals.
  • is an expert in mobile, display, video, native, and branded content.
  • is familiar with different content mediums and the engagement value they bring to publishers.
  • is confident in their understanding of the current monetization strategies used today by publishers.
  • has a deep understanding of the value of data and targeting in today’s landscape.

What to expect

  • In month one:
  • You’ll be carefully on-boarded into the organization.
  • You’ll learn our current product suite, company strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges.
  • You’ll get to know our departments and our employees.
  • You’ll become familiar with our CRM system and existing sales tools.
  • You’ll work collaboratively with senior management to define your publisher quota. * In month two:
  • You’ll get to know the 450 premium publishers who make up our current network. (i.e. Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, CNN, LA Times, USA Today, AARP, Comcast, etc.).
  • You’ll get support from Marketing to help build an initial target list.
  • You’ll start practicing your pitch and tweaking our pitch decks.
  • You’ll start going on meetings with publishers.
  • You’ll have the ability to weigh in and provide product feedback to the team.
  • You will close your first deal * In month three through six:
  • You’ll have weekly meetings with publishers, introducing them to our product, our value-ad, and monetization capabilities.
  • You’ll continue to provide guidance to our product team to ensure our client needs are being met.
  • You’ll be prospecting new clients and working your target list.
  • You’ll be closing new publisher deals on a consistent basis. * In month six and beyond:
  • You’ll be exceeding your quota.
  • You’ll be implementing and executing our data and targeting strategy.
  • You’ll be forecasting on a regular basis.
  • You’ll be attending conferences, speaking at events, and acting as a brand ambassador for Arkadium.
